Zum ersten Mal präsentieren wir die Berliner Künstlerin Doris Marten in unserem LAB.
Die Werke und Installationen in der Ausstellung sind zwischen 2020 und 2022 entstanden.
Für die Ausstellung in Wismar hat Doris Marten neben mehreren Arbeiten aus der Serie "Light 'n' Lines" auch die Wandinstallation "Every me and every you" entwickelt. Je nach Beschaffenheit des Raumes kann die Installation angepasst werden. Bei mehrteiligen Installationen interessiert die Künstlerin vor allem das Verhältnis des einzelnen Bildes zum Gesamtarrangement. Sie geht der Frage nach der Wahrnehmung von Individualität innerhalb einer Vielzahl von Gleichem oder Ähnlichem nach.
"Welche Rolle spielt die Individualität jeder einzelnen Scheibe in Bezug auf die visuelle Dynamik des Gesamtensembles? Gibt es Elemente, die für die Wirkung des Gesamtbildes wichtiger sind als andere? Und wenn ja, aus welchem Grund? Wie wirkt sich ihre jeweilige Position im Gesamtbild aus?" Doris Marten lotete die Grenzen der farblichen und kompositorischen Gestaltung im Hinblick auf eine minimale Verschiebung von Nuancen aus. Je nach Platzierung im Arrangement steuert Marten die Gesamtwirkung, indem sie visuell signifikante Signale einbaut. Die Künstlerin spielt mit den persönlichen Neigungen und ästhetischen Vorstellungen des Rezipienten.

We are presenting the Berlin artist Doris Marten in our LAB for the first time. The works and installations in the exhibition were created between 2020 and 2022.
For the exhibition in Wismar, Doris Marten has developed the wall installation "Every me and every you" in addition to some works from the series "Light 'n' Lines". Depending on the nature of the room, the installation can be adapted. In multi-part installations, the artist is particularly interested in the relationship of the individual image to the overall arrangement. She explores the question of the perception of individuality within a multitude of the same or similar.
"What role does the individuality of each individual pane play in relation to the visual dynamics of the overall ensemble? Are there elements that are more important than others for the effect of the overall image? And if so, for what reason? What is the effect of their respective position in the overall picture?" Doris Marten explored the limits of colour and compositional design with regard to a minimal shift of nuances. Depending on their placement in the arrangement, Marten controls the overall effect by incorporating visually significant signals. The artist plays with the personal inclinations and aesthetic ideas of the recipients.
