Ruth Bussmann invites us to observe, granting insight into a fleeting, private moment.

 

Ein Mädchen steht am Rand, die Augen geschlossen, die Hand tastend ausgestreckt. Die Szene wirkt wie ein Standbild aus einem Film – ein eingefrorener Moment zwischen Unschuld und Konzentration. Licht und Schatten zeichnen feine Streifen über das Kleid, als wollte das Bild andeuten, dass es noch eine zweite Ebene der Wirklichkeit gibt.

Ruth Bussmann arbeitet mit dieser stillen Ambivalenz: Die Figur bleibt in sich versunken und entzieht sich dem Blick, und doch zieht sie uns gerade dadurch hinein. In Atmo spannt Menzke einen Bildraum auf, der zwischen Landschaft und Abstraktion oszilliert. Farbfelder von tiefem Blau, glühendem Orange und erdigen Grüntönen begegnen sich in Schwebezuständen. Keine Kulisse, sondern ein vibrierendes Feld: das Blau öffnet Ferne, das Orange brennt als Glut im Innern, die dunklen Partien erden und halten zurück. Diese Kräfte balancieren einander und halten den Blick in Bewegung – wie ein atmender Rhythmus von Aufbruch und Ruhe.

Die Formen – Blöcke, Flächen, Schraffuren – sind keine Dinge im klassischen Sinn. Sie sind Spur, Fragment, Setzung. Der Bildraum ist kein Abbild einer Landschaft, sondern ihre Erinnerung: wie Überreste, die sich zu einer Chiffre verdichten. In Atmo, Menzke unfolds a pictorial space that oscillates between landscape and abstraction. Fields of deep blue, glowing orange, and earthy greens meet in states of suspension. Not a backdrop, but a vibrating field: blue opens distance, orange burns like an inner glow, darker tones ground and hold back. These forces balance one another, keeping the gaze in motion – like a breathing rhythm between departure and stillness.

The forms – blocks, planes, hatchings – are not objects in a traditional sense. They are traces, fragments, settings. The pictorial space is not a depiction of landscape, but its memory: remnants condensed into a cipher. What we see is not mountains, houses, or shadows, but the idea of horizon and in-between.

The surface itself carries this suspension: overpaintings, scratches, visible traces of the working process. Each layer remains palpable, each edge shows its becoming. Gestures reminiscent of street art are here translated into painting that makes time visible: not only the moment, but many layers of possibility.

Sebastian Menzke takes us into an office full of movement.

In Büro verdichtet Menzke Farbe, Struktur und Erinnerung zu einem vibrierenden Spannungsfeld. Das Werk wirkt nicht wie ein Abbild, sondern wie ein Resonanzraum: Magenta und Violett öffnen Tiefe, Türkis kühlt und balanciert, eruptives Orange treibt als Lichtquelle die Bewegung nach vorn. Diese Konstellation ist kein dekorativer Effekt – sie steuert Temperatur, Rhythmus und Blickführung, sie hält den Betrachter in Bewegung.

Das Interieur – Lampen, Kabel, Stühle, architektonische Fragmente – ist hier kein realistisches Setting. Es ist vielmehr Spur und Zeichen, eine Partitur aus Fragmenten. Raum wird nicht „gefüllt“, sondern „geschrieben“. So verwandelt sich das Büro in ein Gedächtnisbild, in dem Arbeit, Ordnung, Unterbrechung und Neubeginn gleichzeitig anwesend bleiben.

Was aus Street-Art-Praktiken stammt – Layer, Masking, Cut – wird in die Tafelmalerei übersetzt. Man sieht nicht nur, was ist, sondern auch, was war und was hätte sein können.

Menzkes Biografie – von Produktdesign über Street-Art in die Malerei – prägt das Werk. Tektonisches Denken trifft auf malerische Offenheit. Volumen und Fügung verbinden sich mit Reibung und Überlagerung. In Office, Menzke condenses color, structure, and memory into a vibrating field of tension. The work does not act as an image of reality, but as a resonant space: magenta and violet open depth, turquoise cools and balances, while eruptive orange drives the movement forward as a source of light. This constellation is not decorative – it orchestrates temperature, rhythm, and perception, keeping the viewer in motion.

The interior – lamps, cables, chairs, architectural fragments – is no realistic setting. It is instead a trace, a sign, a score composed of fragments. Space is not “filled” but “written.” The office becomes a memory image, in which work, order, interruption, and new beginnings remain simultaneously present.
